Accessibility
Emitt should work for everyone who reports.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on this website and in the Emitt app. If something gets in your way, tell us and we'll fix it.
What we do
- Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA when our colours were chosen, for text and for the controls you use.
- Keyboard access. Menus, tabs, forms and dialogs work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to main content" link.
- Reduced motion respected. If your device asks for less motion, the animations on this site stay still.
- Structure you can navigate. One heading outline per page, labelled form fields and landmarks, so screen readers can move around a page.
- Figures as text. Totals, factors and working in the app are text, not images, so they can be read aloud, copied and zoomed.
Known limitations
- Charts. Some charts in the app show trends visually. The figures behind them are available in the app's tables and report exports.
- Product pictures on this site. The app screens on our homepage are illustrations. They're described in text or hidden from screen readers, and the same information is in the page copy.
- Our launch video has music and on-screen text but no narration. Everything it shows is also described on the homepage.
We haven't had an independent accessibility audit yet. We plan to as the product grows.
Tell us about a barrier
Email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. A person on the team will reply within one business day, and if we can't fix it quickly we'll help you get what you need another way.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Australian Human Rights Commission.
