# Emitt > Emitt is emissions reporting software for Australian businesses with physical operations. It collects energy, fuel, waste and supplier data from every site and project, calculates Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with the Australian National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors, and links every figure to the source document it came from. Made by Emitt, an Australian company. ## The problem it solves A business's emissions data is scattered: electricity bills, meter reads, fuel cards, gas bills, waste dockets and supplier spreadsheets, spread across sites, inboxes and people. Clients, lenders and regulators (including under AASB S2) increasingly ask for Scope 1, 2 and 3 numbers, and for proof of where they came from. Emitt collects that data, checks it, calculates the emissions, and keeps the evidence attached. ## Who it is for Mid-sized Australian businesses that run sites, projects, plant, fleets or supply chains. Construction is the lead industry (emissions per project for tenders and client reports, including subcontractor data), alongside manufacturing, transport and logistics, mining and resources, agriculture and food, property, civil works, warehousing and utilities. ## What it does - Scope 1: diesel, natural gas, LPG, petrol and refrigerants, at national NGA combustion and fugitive rates. - Scope 2: electricity from retailer bills and interval data, location-based, priced against the state grid it was drawn from (NSW/ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS, WA SWIS, WA NWIS, NT). - Scope 3: supplier and subcontractor data collected with short supplier forms (no login needed), plus waste to landfill. - Intake: spreadsheet upload (CSV, XLSX), manual entry, fuel cards, email forwarding, and connections to energy retailers and accounting systems. - Validation: rows with problems stay visible with a reason; every total shows how many records it includes and leaves out. - Corrections: edits are recorded in an audit log and totals recalculate immediately. - Reports: Scope 1, 2 and 3 summary, portfolio comparison, year-on-year change, activity data extract. - Assistant: an optional AI assistant answers questions in plain English from the organisation's own records (sites, uploads, monthly figures, incomplete months). Every answer lists its sources and links to the screen that holds them. It reads only, quotes figures exactly as recorded and leaves totals to reports. It runs on Claude, so questions and the records used to answer them are processed by Anthropic outside Australia. - Compliance readiness: AASB S2 Year 1 checklist and metrics extract, NGER facility tables, CDP-oriented fields, EcoVadis-style evidence pack. These support a disclosure; they are not filings. - Organisation structure: the customer defines it (projects, sites, depots, plants, regions); totals roll up to the company. ## Methodology Scopes follow the GHG Protocol. Factors come from the NGA Factors published by the Australian Government, applying the edition that matches each activity's date. Every figure shows its quantity, factor and edition. Factor values are never edited by hand. ## Security Hosted on Microsoft Azure in Australia (Australia East).
